Mirzapur Season 2: An honest review of Web series

As Mirzapur 2 rides high in expectation, its just not landed there, though there not one but many powerful scene which can thrill the audience. So lets get the complete review of Mirzapur Season 2. 

Mirzapur Season 2 cast:

Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chadha, Anjum Sharma, Vijay Varma, Amit Sial, Isha Talwar, Priyanshu Painyuli

Plot: 

Mirzapur 2 starts where Mirazapur part 1 ended, with wounded Guddu Pandit(Ali fazal) & determined  Golu( Shweta Tripathi ). They make their way to Lala who had lost his son- in- law in the hands of Munna ( Divyenndu ). On  other hand the struggle of Munna for becoming a king of Mirzapur still continues. The son of Rati shankar Shulka, Sharad join hands with tripathi to remain in power of Jaunpur.

The middle part of the movie revolves much around politics of UP, how family member fight for power and no one can be trusted. Akhanda nand Tripathi manage to establish a relationship  with UP Chief minister ( Mr. Yadav ) by agreeing Munna to marry widow daughter of CM.

Script of movie seems very confusing and sometime you will feel that there may unnecessary character in movie who dont get enough time on the screen. Like there is a doctor who help Guduu heal, somehow Guddu enemy kill him and his wife & his child is left with Guddu, there was no objective of tho character in the movie.

Then there is Bihar gangster, where talented actor like Vijay sharma played a double role but did not got enough screen time. May be they are just to set the foundation for season3.

So basically, you will find with entry of so many character and location, Makers of the movie are trying so hard to build a foundation for next part of Mirzapur which reduces the focus on this season objective.

Due to this, the revenge part is just limited to the last episode’s 20 minute. where Guddu & Golu take their revenge. But Akhanda manages to escape. If he is survived or not was not mentioned.

But the makers have made sure that Mirzapur is set to be the long franchise for Amazon Prime. where many season with come.

Acting:

Acting is the main feature of this series, every character irrespective of their screen time, they manage to impress the audience, especially Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu, Rashika Duggal & new entry Vijay Sharma. they were exceptionally well. Munna Tripathi ( Divyendu ) is more mature this time & taken the central stage of part two of Mirzapur. Pankaj Tripathi continues to lead the show with his stoic expressions, but the actor so subtly lets out witty one-liners in spurts that it squarely underlines the conflict within. A lesser actor would look repetitive, but Pankaj has an innate quality of owning his character with a natural charm, like no other.

Script: 

Script is the weakest link of Mirzapur season 2, it lacks continuity, at many instance you would wait with the anticipation that something good will come now. Many scene are useless, As we don’t know whether Golu likes Guddu or why she is angry and ask Vijay Sharma to inflict pain to her, than the sister of Guddu and her boyfriend the objective for this season is not very clear for tham, some character will take few appearance and than wont come back. So the script is more focused to make series longer with more character than making this season 2 more exciting.

Verdict:  Mirzapur two is more about politics and building foundation for season 3 than revenge of Bablu & sweety. Weak Script  but extraordinary acting skill by major character
